The workshop, and what survives Folkestone weather

The machines are Bambu Lab FDM printers running a 0.4 mm nozzle in a 256 mm cube, with enclosed capacity for the higher-temperature materials. Anything that will not fit inside that envelope is split and bonded, and we show you where the joint should fall before anything is printed. The workshop adds machines as demand grows, so a repeat order does not queue behind a first one.

Material choice here is usually settled by the sea and by heat. PLA is cheap, crisp and perfectly good indoors, and it is what most first iterations are printed in. PETG holds its shape to roughly 75 °C, which is what makes it the default for anything behind a bar, in a window that catches the afternoon sun, or in a vehicle. ASA goes outdoors: it keeps its colour and its impact strength under ultraviolet and salt spray where PLA chalks and turns brittle inside a year.

Be honest about the limits before you commit a budget. Typical FDM tolerance is about ±0.3 mm, which is fine for a bracket and wrong for a precision fit. We do not take on food-contact, medical or safety-critical work. And past roughly five hundred units, injection moulding is cheaper than printing. We will tell you that rather than quote you for it.
